Summer Music Academy

The Summer Music Academy provides private lessons, small group theory classes and ensemble experiences. Students will perform as soloists and in ensembles along side the faculty in the culminating recital. Students will have their original compositions performed by the faculty. The faculty holds degrees from The Juilliard School, Cleveland Institute, Manhattan School of Music and performs regularly with (New Haven Symphony, Stamford Symphony and The New York Philharmonic)

profile2897e85d-50e0-11e5-b242-22000a541edc150901194252Juan Pablo Jofre is an Argentinian musician and composer.  He will be giving a lecture and performance as a special treat on August 22, 2016, 4:30 PM at the Eugene D. Nesin Theatre, for the students of the Summer Music Academy and it will also be open to the public. His instrument is called the bandoneon which is closely related to the accordion.  The New York Times has praised him saying, “The Argentine bandoneon artfully played…” This project is made possible in part with funding from a Sullivan County Arts & Heritage Grant funded by the Sullivan County Legislature and administered by Delaware Valley Arts Alliance.


DSC_0398To close out our week of the Summer Music Academy, there will be a Faculty/Student recital on August 26, 2016, 6:30 PM, Eugene D. Nesin Theatre. Our talented students will perform following a full week of intensive lessons, supervised practicing, and chamber music group lessons. In this recital the students will have the opportunity to perform alongside our impressive faculty members.
